SASSA will probably be rendering services for instance new social grant applications, change of payment method, customer treatment enquiries, and also the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.
In a press release, the agency said it is actually alarmed with regards to the large amount of people depending on social grants for survival.
“The intention on the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out into a substantial amount of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.
“This can be due to lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there is no absolutely functional office focused on service the area on a daily basis. The service point established for intervention activities a large influx of potential beneficiaries, that makes it tough for the office to attend to all people who check out a service point.
“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise far more assets to help the servicing of all clients and boost use of Social Assistance services,” the agency said.
